Available Positions


Estimator

PRIMARY JOB REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS OPEN POSITION INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Generate project coversheet (identify critical information)

  • Knowledge of blueprints (ability to read and understand)

  • Complete Takeoffs of all Division 10, 11, and 12 product lines

  • Understand Framing and Drywall Takeoffs

  • Solicit vendor pricing associated with all products that are on the bid.

  • Generate labor costs associated with installing the product(s)

  • Create a price matrix in Excel for Management review.

  • Develop final price sheet and quote for the project.

  • Submit pricing to meet all bid deadlines.

  • Work with Lead Estimator to expand vendor and subcontractor relationships.

  • Generate submittals and close out paperwork

  • Other duties as assigned

 

SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.   • College Degree and/or 3-5 years field experience 

  • 1-3 years' experience in construction estimating preferred

  • Basic building construction knowledge preferred or experience in carpentry or drywall installation

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, plus a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite is required.

  • Ability to multi-task and meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Impeccable problem-solving skills

  • Ability to read architectural plans and develop cost estimates.

  • A valid driver’s license.

  • OSHA 10 Certification


Carpenter

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Provide all manner of heavy construction, light construction, carpentry, support, demolition, revision, maintenance, repair and all manner of directed ‘other’ duties that present relative to all phases of preconstruction, construction and final detailing of a given project.

  • Duties can be that of constructing frames, structures, walls and complete buildings. Construction materials may be manually presented to specific work points or can be presented by forklift.

  • Carpenter works in parallel with the contracted entities providing construction services. This worker may be called upon to assist contractors relative to given needs, addresses small projects not contracted.

  • May have to receive, stack, store and potentially relocate given construction materials in order to provide given tasks or clear areas as need dictates.

  • The carpenter can use all manner of assistive devices in terms of buckets, hand trucks, push carts and fork lift to accomplish given tasks.

  • Duties can also include tasks associated with weather demands, such as clearing snow, monitoring and removal of infiltrated water and moisture, and preventing water damage from rain.

  • This position can work alone or as part of a crew of various numbers with and without supervision, and is expected to both carry out directed tasks and to also independently sustain productivity by performing routine duties and tasks without guidance.

Successful Candidate Requirements:

  • 5+ years of a variety of general construction-related and/or carpentry experience


Field Supervisor

Key Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

  • Work as site supervisor when company operates as a General Contractor

  • Attend kick off meetings with Estimator to discuss the job and products

  • Layout and Field Measurements

  • Prior to being on site, determine what hardware/special tools will be required for all job starts

  • Understand project budgets and make efforts to meet or exceed expectations

  • Layout of work, coordination of materials and tools

  • Receive deliveries on site

  • Direct Carpenters and Laborers

  • Coordinate manpower/assign employees to jobs when needed

  • Generate/coordinate change order documentation as appropriate

  • Direct subcontractors as assigned

  • Manage the installation of our products

  • Attend job site meetings as required

  • Work with the Project Managers on progress of the jobs

  • Ensure Daily Reports and Work Authorization tickets are completed and given timely to office personnel

  • Take photos of each project before, during, and after completion and load to proper job file

  • Make sure employees are completing the timesheets accurately and in a timely manner

  • Work alongside less experienced employees to mentor/train them

  • Ensure safety procedures are followed on each job site

  • Work side by side with carpenters if needed

  • Other related job duties as assigned

 

Qualifications/Education/Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED, with some college preferred

  • 5+ years of experience in construction; preferably specializing in Interiors

  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment and hands on with mentoring/training carpenters and laborers

  • Demonstrated supervisory skills

  • OSHA30 certification

  • Building construction knowledge required

  • Ability to read and understand architectural drawings

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, plus a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite is required
